There are several free promotional opportunities within the Memorial Union. These spaces are for advertising campus events sponsored by OSU Departments or recognized student organizations and clubs.



Reservations can be made from 7 am to 11 pm at the MU Guest Services, room 112 or or using the online reservation system. Click here for a map of our advertising spaces to better guide you through your reservation.

  • Location: Plasma TV Screens in MU. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum.
  • Ads rotate through every minute, showing over 480 times per day.
  • Ad must be letter-size format in landscape (11”x8.5” horizontal.)
  • PSA that are 30 seconds or less and do not have sound, can also be run on the screens.
  • Attach jpeg file to reservation or send to a week before start date.


  • Location is at the South Commons Entrance Handrail, Jefferson Way. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Banners must be exterior grade canvas or vinyl with metal grommets for hanging with zip ties.
  • Maximum size is 5’ height x 11’ length.
  • Deliver banner to 112 MU for installation by MU Staff.


  • Location is on the Mezzanine Hallway, locked glass cases. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Display must include YOUR contact information.
  • Guests sign out key at 112 MU, install ad, and return key immediately.
  • Key is available to guest for changes during reservation period.
  • Guest is responsible for removal by closing time on end date.
  • Bulletin Board dimensions: 33.5” height x 58” wide and is very shallow.


  • Location is at room 112 Memorial Union. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Purpose is to collect items for philanthropy/donation.
  • Guest must provide box no larger than 2’x2’ with attached signage containing contact information and Event Title and dates.
  • Box is NOT VISIBLE—guest is responsible for notifying campus what donations they are seeking and location of collection box, and for removing items from our office when notified that box is full, and on end date.


  • West side of Commons (MU food court). 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Only for advertising open events on campus.
  • MU will provide paint and supplies if you wish to paint ads on windows.
  • Two panes are provided; ad can face inside on one pane, outside on other pane—ads must be installed on inside surface, which may require painting wording backwards.
  • Panes are 29” height x 51” width.
  • MU custodial staff will remove painted ads on end date.


  • Location on the Concourse near 112 MU. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Only for advertising an event, promotion or celebration and may include open space for gathering comments and/or signatures.
  • No staffing or additional structures allowed.
  • The Wall consists of 5 black fabric panels, each 7.5’ height x 2’ width for a total width of 10’ and includes lighting.
  • Materials may only be attached with Velcro strips provided by the MU.
  • MU Staff will set up wall on start date and remove on end date.    


  • Location of spaces #1a/b & 2a/b on landing of marble staircase; 3-6 at sides of main lounge entrance.
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Only for advertising dated events, not for general information.
  • Maximum size allowed is 36” height x 24” width x ¼” thickness, and are best mounted on poster or foam core boards for display.


  • Location of Booths 1 & 2 in Trysting Tree Lounge (across from Bites convenience store), Counter A in Mezzanine hallway, near Commons food court. 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum. 
  • Recognized Student Organizations must register their events on-line with Student Involvement-failure to register can result in cancelation of your ad space reservation.
  • Must be staffed, materials may not be left at this site unattended.
  • Use is limited to table/counter; additional structures and use of surrounding hallways is not allowed.
  • No food may be dispensed at Distribution Areas.


  • Located on the Mezzanine or Concourse study tables (22 each), Commons tables (95). 
  • 1 week per reservation maximum.
  • Guest must deliver sample of ad to 112 MU upon arrival.
  • Guest is responsible for installing, and removing ads by closing on end date.
  • Size restricted to 6” height x 4” width.



  • Ad Spaces are free.
  • Only OSU Departments and Recognized Student Organizations may reserve Ad Spaces.
  • Guests must check in at MU Guest Services, 112 MU before installing the Ads.
  • Reservations may not be made by one group and turned over for use by another group.
  • Advance reservations are allowed up to one year from current date.
  • Only one of each type of Ad Space should be reserved, and you may be asked to release some bookings if you monopolize available spaces of a particular type, such as Easels.
  • Two reservations of the maximum period allowed for each Ad Space may be booked per term for each event you wish to advertise.
  • Guests, who fail to install their ads within 24 hours of their start date, may forfeit that space to another’s request.
  • Any content displayed in a language other than English shall also have an English language translation.
  • Materials not promptly reclaimed by guests on the reservation end date will be recycled or destroyed.
  • OSU and the MU are not responsible for the loss or damage of materials exhibited.



  • Book each type of Ad Space separately, and for no more than the maximum dates allowed.
  • Book the same Ad Space (e.g. same number Concourse Easel) for consecutive days – if the ad goes from one space to the next, it is your responsibility to come move it every time there’s a change.

This does not apply to the numbers used for Axis TV Slides; the location does not change.
