Art at the Memorial Union

Art at the Memorial Union

The MU Art Team together coordinates several different areas of programming.

MU Concourse Gallery

The gallery consists of a series of enclosed glass cases in the heart of the Memorial Union: the Concourse. The gallery is shifting into a student-led program, with students involved in the planning and facilitation of several annual shows. If you are currently an OSU Student or will be in the coming year and you are interested in learning more, email [email protected]

MU Collection

The art at the Memorial Union is a living, breathing collection. The vast majority of the collection is on the walls; there are not many pieces in storage. In addition to being displayed in public spaces, employees in either the Student Experience Center or the Memorial Union can request to see available work and have it placed in their office.

For decades, part of the purpose of the collection has been to expose interested students to the art of conservation/restoration. Student employees learn by doing. In fact, the current Collection Manager learned as a student employee years ago. It's a program unique to the Oregon State University Memorial Union.

MU Holiday Marketplace

With a decades long history, the annual Holiday Marketplace has been a beloved fixture at Oregon State University. The annual craft fare is held on the first weekend of December in the beautiful Memorial Union Ballroom. We are excited to be bringing this community fundraiser back, after a brief hiatus.
